Steve BarwickSteven R. Barwick is Manager of de Morgan Communities of Colorado. His responsibilities include formulation of strategy, short and long-range planning, assistance with community and governmental relations, and direction of company activities. Mr. Barwick is 56 years of age and a graduate of St Leo College. In 1970, after serving in the United States Air Force, he joined the Police Department in Lakeland, Florida. He served seven years in the patrol division before being transferred to the Criminal Investigation Division. During his five years in the Criminal Investigation Division, he investigated various crimes against persons and property. During the last three years, he led the white collar section, investigating commercial and bank fraud. In 1982, Mr. Barwick left the Lakeland Police Department to join a consulting company in Palm Beach County, Florida. He became a Certified Public Accountant and a partner in the firm in 1984. Mr. Barwick became senior managing partner in the firm and ran it from 1986 to 1994. The firm concentrated on business consulting and due diligence, real estate analysis and tax compliance. In 1995, Mr. Barwick and two of his brothers acquired control of Baker Electronics, Inc., a company then involved in manufacturing and marketing aviation audio control panels and cabin management equipment. In 1995, Baker was a very small participant in both these markets. It ultimately became the largest manufacturer of cabin management equipment for business aircraft in the world, a position which made it an attractive acquisition candidate. The Company was sold by the Barwick brothers to Honeywell International in 2002. Steven R. Barwick served as it Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer from 1995 until its sale to Honeywell. Mr. Barwick brings to his current endeavors experience in finance, marketing and general management. He is a multi faceted manager with a strong foundation in finance and marketing.
